This important part of the islands history should be kept at all costs. The steam and electric services will suffer greatly if this link is removed.

was planning to holiday again inIoM in September but won't bother now as the horse tram was one of the main and unique attractions for us, More tourism income lost by Douglas Corporation.

My visit to Isle of Man and drive with Horse Tramway was fantastic experience several years ago. It is stupidity to close it ! In the name of all Czech railway fans I protest and I demand to keep Douglas Horse Tramway !

This is all part of the wonderful transport system on the Isle of Man, it must be kept.

A first-class misser to close such a historically important tramway (attraction)!

World famous heritage and great touristic attraction. Also an exceptional part of the wonderful public transport system to explore the island. It is extremely short sighted to close it! What about the tourism organisations and professionals of the island, to participate in order to maintain the horse tram.

This is spectacularly short sighted. I won't bother to holiday in Douglas again to have a view of silent rusty rails outside my hotel window.

I think it is traffic curiosity. It is a pitty to destroy it :-(

This is the very last surviving urban horse tramway in the world. If this closes it will be a permanent and irreparable loss to heritage transport worldwide.

From annual childhood family holidays in the 50s and school camps for years in the 60s to my return on holiday to the island in 2014 I and my family have enjoyed the unique facility of trips on the trams and the wonderful horses with visits to the stables. It is too valuable an asset to the land my ancestors came from to let it go without a real effort. Surely a public appeal jointly with Douglas Corporation made to the public all over the world and to charitable trusts could find the costs of sustaining the service?

If Douglas council don't want to run the tramway why not sell it as a going concern. I'm sure one of the big bus companies would like it.

The Horse Tramway is one of the reasons for me to come from the US to visit the Isle of Man.

My wife and I often have 2 weeks holiday on the Island mostly for its Transport.
