I only know the horse tram for 12 years; a fraction of the 139 years history. The horse tram played a vital part making me come back to the island. Last year we really used it as public transport. What a hugh loss it would be!!

it would be a shame to loose it

If it goes then it is one more piece of history lost. The horse trams are one of the railed items that atracts visitors to the Island. Find someway to keep it.

Stop getting rid of history & keep it. People like history

It may not look cost effective on its own, but is part of the historic mix of attributes that make the island such an interesting place for visitors. You should market the attraction more, offering every visitor a one way trip. They can pay for the return.or walk and shop along the front. Outside peak hours, cars should be banned from the prom to enhance the ambiance of this coastal delight.

The Douglas promenade wouldn't be the same without them!

It would be a CRIME to close this wonderful institution. Please see sense and reverse the decision!

And what would happen to the horses and drivers if the Tramway was scrapped?

What a disgrace. Does the Council not know what a historic attraction this tramway is to Douglas.

Horse trams are synonymous with Douglas. Scrapping them would be counter-productive.

Scrap this idea, not the trams

An incredibly short sighted decision - where else in the world would deliberately remove such a vital tourist asset? Don't do it !!

Using these trams are a key memory for my children every time we visit family and strengthen their feeling of Manx identity.

Surely they can be kept going on a reduced service?

I suspected something like this when the planned move never happened, never trust politicians of any colour!!

We really enjoyed our trip on the tramway when we visited the Isle for the first time recently. In my opinion, it would be both foolish and short-sighted to get rid of this charming tourist attraction. Hopefully, common sense will prevail among the island's decision makers.

I love everything about the horse trams! Please don't destroy this wonderful, much-loved, unique part of Manx heritage!
