Absolutely inanely stupid decision. have the people in charge of this learned nothing from the proposed abandonment of the steam railway 40 years ago, or the one-time-planned shortening of the electric line to Laxey? As island residents have said, it's part of the island's unique heritage. I am interested in heritage; it's the sole reason I go on holidays to the island, bringing over the years quite a few tourist ££ to it. If the unique visitor attractions are taken away, not inly will I not be going, but you be certain that many, many others won't either. These days, you need a unique selling point to attract tourists to an island - let's face it - as cold and rainy as the one I live on. Dougles councillors - or whoever you are - have a bit of sense. Move the thing to the side if it's in the way, but KEEP it. Listen to your own people, all of whom say the same.

Please keep the trams they are an important part of island heritage that, if removed, will certainly diminish the attraction of the island to visitors.

This is part of the islands unique heritage, discontinuing the trams is like knocking down the Laxey wheel. If the Islands attractions & heritage are to continue to be removed I would seriously start to consider not visiting the island in future years as I am sure would many others.

We visited the Isle of Man every summer during my childhood and the tram was a key part of the holiday experience. It would be such a shame to lose this for future tourists.

Loss of the tramway would be a significant loss to the island. This is increadibly short sighted thinking by the council and strikes as totally unimaginative and inept management.

As a child my mum used to take us on it and I used to love it , don't take the experience away from future generations!!!!

Each time, I've visited the Island, I've always had a ride along the Prom on the Horse Tram, it's a great way to go from one end to the other.

This is a terrible decision made by unfeeling politicians who obviously do not understand the benefits of a unique attraction such as this.

You don't know what you have till it's gone. Keep up the pressure for such a unique heritage asset.

I have used the horse tram in the past. It is an amazing attraction and must be able to make money? Please don't withdraw!

This is a dreadful decision. My main reason for visiting the Isle of Man is the historic transport and this will make me look elsewhere in future.

Don't make the Isle of Man like everywhere else. Keep your tradition and your herritage.

Absolutely awful decision. The IOM should hold on to and cherish all that makes it unique. This matters!

Now decided not to bother visiting the Isle of Man in August as there will be no event for the 140th anniversary of the horse tramway. Planning to go to Norway instead. Norway's gain, Isle of Man's loss!
