The IoM is a unique place in the British Isles. The Horse Trams are part of it's uniqueness. Losing them would be short sighted and damage its attraction to visitors who pay the extra boat or air fare to holiday on the Isle. If you are going tone the same as everywhere else, they may as well save money and visit the Lake District, Wales or Scotland. They are your competition so you need to promote what makes you unique, not scrap it!!

Save this very valuable part of the IOM. Lots of things make a loss and aren't scraped. Please please please save the horse trams.

It s more than a shame when a unique and certainly iconic operation such as this is closed down. Surely a review is not beyond possibility? Try to imagine San Francisco without its cable cars or New Orleans without its trams - both of which were once in danger of closure but with determined vigor, both are not only saved but promoting more tourism than any other entity. This needs to be reconsidered.

Whilst I appreciate councils have to save money, could nor other ways be found to save this world heritage tramway. Has it been offered to the private sector to make a go of it. How about the use of volunteers to run it as has successfully been achieved in Blackpool with the operation of heritage trams

There are many reasons to visit the island but this was one of the best and I would be less likely to go without it.

Why can't the heritage funding that supports the steam trains and other trams step in? This form of transport is unique and so important for tourism.

Eliminating this tourist favorite on the IOM would be a big mistake. We ride on each visit and would greatly miss this fun tourist attraction..

If the horse tramway is deemed unsuitable to be on the roadway, although it always has been, why should it not be diverted on to the promenade as previously planned?

Unbelievable news how can Douglas Corporation be allowed to destroy 140 years of history the Manx Government irrespective of cost should step in and save it.

There must be a way of saving this fantastic piece of island history. I always make a point of going on them when I'm over and to have them dissappear would be very sad.
