It would be dreadful shame for the IOM to lose part of their history.

Please don't get rid of the tram - it is a much loved attraction for all who visit the island, one of the images we share with others also, encouraging them to visit!!!

Can't believe this historic unique part of the IOM is at risk of being lost.

To scrap the Douglas Horse Trams is like building a roundabout on Bray Hill. Its a retrograde move which is unique to the IoM and a big part of its attraction.

Loved riding on the trams as a child when I lived over there. Still always make sure we ride on the trams when we holiday on the island now with my own kids. Such a shame if they stop for good.

Many a memory from all my 42 years. One of the only parts of our heritage remaining for our tourists. This needs a rethink

Don't close the tramway. Do the decent thing and resign as you don't deserve to be in post!

It would be a great pity if this unique tramway was to close forever. I am just glad that I have had the opportunity to experience it and hopefully will be able to again. KEEP THE HORSES PLEASE!

To all the Manx politicians, be you in Tynwald or local government: Shame on you.
You have taken the easy way out and found a convenient excuse to rid your selves of something that is, in itself, an obstacle to development but is massively part of the imagery and ethos of the Isle of Man.
You have quantified this purely on stand alone terms and ignored its contribution to the Isle of Man brand.
You have robbed future manx generations of their heritage.
What next? Sell the Castles for apartments and car parking space?
In 100 years time, will the 'cultural quarter ' and 'improved traffic flow' be seen as justification for your actions?
For allowing this to happen on your 'watch' you deserve to be vilified until your dying days.
Again; Shame on you!

This is one of the reasons I adore visiting the Isle of Man, one of it's unique selling points. Without them the island will love some of it's soul. As so much of the economy depends on Tourism, I'm amazed this is being considered.
