Please retain the horse trams - I have been visiting the Island for 70 years and they are part of its attraction for visitors, along with the MER and the steam railway - along with the preserved Corporation and Road Services buses. Peter G Greaves

We travel frequently to the isle of man and the horse trams are something the children and whole family look forward to using. They are part of the island and its tradition and we tell everybody upon our return about them even after travelling over for many years. We always advise people to come to the island and they are very much a part of the Douglas sea front and manx heritage and are definatley an attraction for tourists and visitors to the island.

It seems inconceivable to me that anyone could even consider axeing such an iconic historic tradition that brings so much pleasure to tourists and residents alike and is a major part of the Island's identity. Short term, narrow-minded cost considertaions totally ignore the wider value of this unique tramway in terms of the economy of the whole island. The horse tram is possible the single 'extra' that makes many people, like myself, choose to cross the water to take their holiday there rather than the many other scenic resorts we have on the mainland. Such heritage is thrown away at far greater peril.

No horse trams = less visitors in the future. If IOM values tourism they must be retained.

The IoM has a unique transport heritage - pity the Govt. is unable to realise that.

The tramway is part of the unique heritage of the Isle of Man and should never be scrapped.

The Laxey Wheel, the Railway and the Horse-Drawn Trams are the highlights of a visit to IOM. Visitors love the nostalgia. Please don't spoil it.

I am a manx person living overseas and when I come home the horse trams is one of the first things I look forward to visiting. To see them taken away would be devastating as they are not only a part of manx history but a part of every manx persons memories and visitors too it's madness to even consider this course of action keep the iom unique keep our horse trams

This just cannot happen. Heritage needs yo be preserved. Too much is being lost. I have enjoyed the trams for 46 years and would hate to see them disappear.

My grandad who trace fly died to cancer was a proud Manx man and was so happy when all of the family were able to come over and go up on this team he used to love. Huge sentimental value

If the tram goes, so does one of the reasons to visit. IOM doesn't have enough tourists as it is. The tram is one of the few unique features of the iom. Get the banks to sponsor but leave them be.

Some things are worth keeping and once gone, are difficult to get back. Tourists don't just come for the new and high-brow but the little individual things too

How incredibly stupid to even consider scrapping the Horse Trams. How about giving the TT and the Laxey Wheel the elbow next ! I note that both Cllrs Christian and Ashford are both listed as being business-men, I take it their businesses do not profit from the tourist industry. These two individuals are a very poor advert for the Isle of Man, the electorate should bin or even scrap them at the next election, horses could do a better job.

Would really, really, like to ride the horse tramway, and hope I don't loose my chance!

Something this unique really needs to be saved!

The horse drawn trams are a key part to the I.O.M.They seemed as popular when I visited again in 2015 as they were when I first started to visit in the late 1960's.These types of traditions must be allowed to carry on.

Heritage like this cannot be lost. Surely a way of running the trams is out there without closing down all together
