I cannot imagine the Island without this wonderful and unique vintage system.

I visit the Island twice a year and have been visiting since I was a child. My dad would always be the first to say "Look, I can see a horse tram!" as we approached the island on the boat and that meant we had arrived and we were all so excited. They are part of the magic of the Island. On my last visit My dad took me for a walk along the old railway line to Peel and he had so many happy memories to share. Please don't close anything else. Can you imagine my grandchildren's faces when I have to explain that there used to be horse trams here????

This is a unique part of our heritage and should be kept for future generations. The value of tourism to the economy should be taken into account when considering any subsidy to tramway.

this is a rare piece of heritage what makes the iom a special place we go a few times a year just to see this and the electric train and steam train

The horse trams are a Manx institution and a tourist attraction. Would be truly disappointed to never be able to take my daughter on the tram along the prom. Not everything should be about making a profit.

So many happy memories of camping just outside Douglas way back in the 1960's and riding all the lines on the Isle of Man.

I grew up on the Island and took my family back last year, they loved the horse tram and my youngest son collected all available stamps on a booklet. It must not be scrapped!!

The very thought of this historic and unique tramway being relocated or abandoned is beyond belief and utterly contemptible. It is an immeasurable part of history not just of the island but of world transportation.

As the only horse tramway to have operated continuously since the days when they were a common form of transport, yours is unique in the world and should be kept; and if it was closed that would be one less reason to visit the Isle of Man.

The promenade would be empty and bare without the horse trams. The IOM government should introduce a tax or levy on all the thousands of offshore companies registered on the island, say £2000 per annum each to be used towards the MER, Horse Trams and Railway.
