It has been noticed by many people that vehicles have began to consistently park on Garratts Lane, opposite the BT Exchange and near the junction with Shrubland Road. This has caused traffic along the road to become a lot worse and more vehicles trying to beat the traffic to race down Diceland Road, Ferndale Road, Lyme Regis Road and Chipstead Road. I wish to get the council to paint Double Yellow lines along this road as it not safe nor courteous to other road users for vehicles to do so. I will be submitting photographic evidence as well as this petition, however, the more people that get on board the more chance this will happen.

I have witnessed many near misses along that stretch of road. Thank God there have been no accidents (to my knowledge). I am fearful for everyone who drives, and walks along that section of Garratts Lane. The people who park their cars there clearly have no regard for safety and sensible road use. Parking restrictions must be put in place.
Cars parked in Garretts Lane cause major traffic jams. Drivers become impatient whilst waiting to pass. Parking there is inconsiderate and a hazard, it's a very busy road also used by school children.
i work on Garratts lane and it is so dangerous trying to get past them, when there is about 4/5 cars parked you can't see clearly if it is safe to go, many of times it looks clear so I go to go round the cars when all of a sudden a car comes speeding down. It's an accident waiting to happen!!
This is my only route into school run and work and my children have nearly been late as the traffic the silly parking is causing has now put extra 20-30 minutes on my journey
Before these cars stared parking here getting my son to school was fine but sometimes now the traffic backs up to waitrose in the high street and it's a total nightmare.

This is a major issue. It took me 15mins to get out of the area last Tuesday , and all I was trying to do was drive drive from St Anne's school to the A217! Consequently, I was very late for work. It's very inconsiderate behaviour to park along that road, particularly as there are a number of adjacent roads nearby where people could park without impacting traffic in this way.

The parking on this road has caused a considerable delay to my journey every day. People can't turn left from Holly Lane into Garratts Lane and it is causing a huge tail back.
