The market should be allowed to continue. It is a vital source of community.

This Market is like an Economic Relief Policy, closing it down could have dire consequences to the economy of Dorp Street.

Next municipal election, my vote will go to the party that will reopen this market and I implore everyone to do the same! May this short-sighted, heavy-handed, inconsiderate decision cost the DA dearly. Politicians must be reminded that they are here to serve, and not rule, the people who elect them.

Why not keep the market open WHILE searching for an alternative location?? Does the Stellenbosch municipality not understand the impact to people's livelihoods and the local economy? Also the impact to tourism, this market has become a major attraction for the town.

All these entrepreneurs definitely add flavour to the town! What a shame to see another successful "venture" being pushed aside.

I cannot believe the municipality chose to do this. Dorp street is so quiet now on Sundays. Dear municipality, you made a bad decision in terms of economical growth. The market supported many entrepreneurs, the Dorp Street businesses and did so without any issues for FOUR YEARS!

Anorher example of officials and politicians who believe they own a town. Residents have a right to the city.

Stellenbosch Municipality is showing quite the incompetence in a wide variety of areas at the moment and this was a breath of fresh air to attract people to a town filled with economical decline.
