Nightmare most days

Complete nightmare each and every day. Cutting rather than increasing bus services doesn't help, cutting fares, make the service more reliable and frequent would reduce cars on the road.

I'm so glad my office moved out of Dorking and I don't have to face the joke traffic anymore. Don't even bother going down Vincent Lane anymore as it's such a joke. Alot has been caused by all new traffic lights, was so much better with a roundabout and zebra crossing. SCC won't care as they don't have to drive into Dorking!!

I live in Dorking and it has long been a problem, but has got very much worse. 2 way traffic in Vincent Lane would help southerly traffic flow fromA25 Westcott Road

Ingenious but pragmatic solutions imperative.

An easy win, as a start would be to put double yellow lines all the way down Vincent Lane, after Lidl and past the bus stop. Here one parked car can easily cause chaos by preventing cars getting into left hand land . Ashcombe Road can be similarly blocked by a single parked car towards the A25 end.

Do something - doing nothing isn't helping

Surrey County Council needs to look into this. Maybe a junction box at the end of Vincent lane may help. Traffic lights don't seem to be set and the new ones outside Waitrose don't help the back log up West Street. If I can I avoid Dorking in the rush hour. Nightmare

We need a review of previously granted planning. Too many redevelopments have been allowed. Where maybe a handful of homes once stood you have ended up with 10-50 homes in there place. This can double or even treble the cars on our roads for each additional house. Also allowing Lidl to build on the one way system was rediculus, I have nothing against Lidl, shopping there myself, however the traffic on the one way system was bad before you allowed a supermarket to build there. Now it is gridlock. I no longer go into to dorking for anything. Whom ever allowed all this building around Dorking should be held to account!!!

Dorking has become a traffic nightmare. An hour and a quarter to get from Westcott to Dorking last saturday teatime. Should take 2 minutes!

Something needs to be done fast about this did not have these issues until the council decided to put sets of traffic lights in at bottom of Vincent Lane and North Street. There are other factors also but these comments I suspect will not be read so why waste time writing them the councils never listen.

Something has to be done as the amount of traffic has got out of hand. First it was the lights at pump house corner & then the ridiculous filter at the Lidl entrance. You need good, local town planners to address this URGENTLY!

I totally support this petition. Surrey County Council must act to assess traffic movement around the town and implement mitigation measures to improve the situation.

My concerns are not simply the delays but also the pollution caused by so much sitting traffic.

This situation needed reviewing years ago!

It is quicker for me to drive to Leatherhead and shop than it is to get through the traffic from my house near the Nower in Dorking to the town! Local business is missing out and it's ridiculous how long it takes to get anywhere!! This will devalue our houses as well - who wants to live somewhere that is continuously gridlocked!!

a bypass tunnel is the only solution
