I was shocked when I moved to Dorking 2 years ago to see the level of traffic congestion here. I am very surprised to find that no review of traffic has been held. Pollution is far too high. Please consider the future of this town and review how traffic can flow better through and around it.

Such a lovely town to live in; such a shame that it is beset by so many traffic problems. The approach from Westcott can be a nightmare!

I live in westcott, the journey to dorking from westcott is becoming unbearable, my 20 minute journey to work in the mornings now take me over an hour due to the congestion along the westcott rd.

The only time there has been no traffic problems are when the lights are not working and junctions are treated a 4-way stops.

I agree. It's extraordinary that the lights in the centre of Dorking haven't been reviewed when it's so obvious that they're causing a bottleneck. Please do something soon as the pollution levels in Dorking are already relatively high.

The delays getting into Dorking from the west along the A25 are very bad, made worse on occasion by malfunctioning temporary traffic lights which Surrey County Council do not adequately monitor

Entirely agree - the phasing of the traffic lights needs to be addressed urgently.

Cut the time of red lights at Pump Corner, London Road and all pedestrian crossings. So often, motorists sit whilst nobody crosses.

Get rid of the traffic lights at pump corner - on the occasions these have gone wrong the traffic has flowed much better and cars do stop to let pedestrians cross the road

I completely agree with the summary expressed by this petition. It regularly takes me 30 minutes to get from Westcott to the lights at Vincent lane. Traffic congestion is making all our lives miserable. The traffic fumes are really nasty and must be above safety limits at the dorking end of the Westcott rd.

Shocking traffic now, used to be ok 10 years ago, since they changed the traffic light sequence it's chaos, backing up in South Street as well as Vincent Lane and West Street. Why would you even bother coming into Dorking??

Absolutely fed up with constant congestion that seems to occur at any time of the day, especially along Westcott Road. I can't believe after all this time, Surrey County Council say that only proposals for a study have been made, what we need is action not bluster and excuses

Traffic in Dorking is appalling. The Vincent Lane/Westcot Rd/Station Rd/West St is particularly bad and puts people off coming to shop

I am sure no-one from Surrey County Council lives anywhere near Dorking, otherwise this shocking problem would have been dealt with a long time ago.

A journey that take me 30 minutes in the morning at 7am is taking over an hour in the evenings between 4-5pm. Main cause, that I can see, is lorrys and buses taking up multiple lanes along the one way section of the road.

The main problems are single lane parts and parking in Vincent Lane.

Sort Dorking traffic problems out

Needs attention, before a seriously accident happens. Some journeys are quicker to cycle or walk into town from Westcott instead of the car while use the cycle path to avoid the congestion this is not always possible. Traffic is often backed up beyond Unum, is getting worse.

Congestion has got worse and worse over the last 3 years - some solutions are obvious - they just need to get on and do it
