Changing all the unnecessary traffic lights to Zebra crossings would be a start

None of us want to see a physical impact on the town with road widening etc.... but certainly the lights and phasing is an issue. Recent water works in the high street have had a massive impact. The junction of Vincent Lane as it hits the A25 needs to be a box junction. Traffic from Guildford blocks and you cant get out. The phasing there is utterly random too. Access to the Priory should be from the main road not via the Nower with buses and coaches log jamming the lanes which impacts on the main one way. Nightmare.

we live in vincent lane and it's totally unfair with what we have to put up with . We at times , mostly, are unable to leave our home due to traffic congestion . You need to do, in fact demand as tax payers you do something about it . it's your duty

It shouldn't take over an hour to do a 5 min journey through Dorking. It's just getting worse and needs to be addressed immediately

It needs a total traffic management plan and road layout to suit a high traffic town.

The traffic situations is beyond acceptable now - an additional problem to the the ones listed is that the side roads have now become short cuts and, more importantly, race tracks which is fast becoming dangerous and will only be a matter of time before the is an accident directly related to this.

Situation is a nightmare especially on Deepdene Avenue and the one way system and it affects people in the town massively

Why are the traffic wardens always hanging around the car parks instead of relieving congestion due to obstructions caused by deliveries/parking on the main road(s)? There will be nobody to fine in the carparks when everyone finally abandons shopping in Dorking altogether because of the problems getting in and out of town. Come on Mole Valley/Surrey County Council. Even Mr Magoo wasn't this short-sighted.

What is required is a road traffic management plan for Dorking which is written by people that use Dorking's roads regularly, not theory from Leatherhead, Guildford and Kingston.
