The promoters of Crossrail 2 are consulting on two locations In Eagle Wharf Road, Hoxton (Site A - Access Self Storage or Site B - Museum of London Archaeology) for a possible shaft to connect new underground tunnels to the surface.

This is a major construction project which could take 5 years and involve large numbers of HGV movements on a daily basis.

Due to the close proximity of of homes, the narrowness of Eagle Wharf Road, the impact on local businesses and the nearby Thomas Fairchild Community School, we urge the promoters of Crossrail to think again.

Another option should be chosen that does not so directly and adversely affect the local community.

I was looking at the notifications piling up on my phone while trying to make coffee and honestly it is just overwhelming to see how many people realize this construction project is a disaster for our neighborhood. It is starting to feel real now especially with so many neighbors speaking up about the safety of our streets and the school nearby.

This is a densely populated street with constant traffic of cars, bicycles and pedestrians, which cannot cope with the disruption which would be caused by the construction work. In fact, Eagle Wharf Road becomes Shepherdess Walk which is part of the London cycle superhighway and construction traffic would make it impassable and very unsafe for cyclists of all ages.

A really unwise proposal. Much too near a school; would involve numerous heavy lorries in an intensely built-up area and a narrow B road. Issues about large brick sewer. Quite unsuitable for such a densely populated area. On North side of canal also dense housing, small children etc. Another location needs to be found.

Find another site for the shafts. My twin grandsons have only just started at Thomas Fairchild School and don't need all the dirt and disruption to spoil their school days. The street is too narrow and it will blight so many residents lives.

Put simply it's just not the greatest location. Let's not forget the local police station at the top of Shepherdees walk, use Eagle Wharf road as a common route. With the fairly new barclays bikes installed narrowing the roads even more, this potential scenario echo's chaos

This site is in the middle of a dense residential area. It is an inaccessible site that requires travelling down narrow residential roads. It is very close to a school and overlooks a beautiful section of the canal. the impact of the construction work would badly damage the quality of life and health of the children and adults in its immediate vicinity.

The noise of the reconstruction works across the canal have been going on for 5 years now and are just coming to a close. The thought of another 5 years is nightmare-ish. Please find somewhere else.

I believe there would be less disruption to the area if the site at the edge of Shoreditch Park is used

This will cause too much disruption for many years.
