This boy comes Into my work often and I think he does not need to go to prison! He is very sweet and just got in with the wrong crowd!

Yes, there should be some kind of punishment but not prison. He is a teen and teens make mistakes.

We as a country have a huge drug addiction problem. This esteemed from an addiction and if he has no other violent crimes in his past then please don't send him to prison. First get him help with his addiction and help him beat it. Once he's sober I'm sure he will see the awful crime he did

I know this young man very well. He's my step son and I was their just a few years ago witnessing him and his brother Steven being baptized. I know there's no way he should be going to prison. He's a very good kid and most definitely needs a chance to have a good, productive life.

I think he needs to stand up for what was done but the other people arent even in trouble for what they done. He is a kid and shouldnt go to prison

It’s honestly disgusting that these two kids can go to PRISON for robbery, but two men raping multiple females can’t even get sent to court or have any punishment... Such a pitiful system honestly...

While what he did was wrong and like they said should be Consequences the sentence they are trying to give this young boy especially a first time offender is horrible ! Yes he needs to be punished but he’s a child with a whole future ahead of him that will be taken away . Our job is to Help our future generations become successful adults . By doing this knowing he was using drugs at this time and has been clean since , has kept a job and is trying to better himself is completely destroying this young mans life . Make him do probation, community service , drug testing. Counseling ! But help him better himself not destroy his whole life . We are loosing to many young children as it is . Don’t be part of that .

James is a good child that was led astray by a drug dealing addict father. Please give him the opportunity to chose a different path. He has a wonderful mother who will provide love and guidance throughout his journey of recovery.

Prisons time for first-time youthful offenders involved in nonviolent drug related crimes will more than likely do more harm than good. The individual would, probably, do better in a drug rehab program with good counseling and community service. A young person and first time offenders SHOULD have an opportunity to try and turn their life around rather than be imprisoned with more serious types of criminals that mighr have a more harnful influence and effect on them. At least, the young person SHOULD BE given a chance to turn his or her life around..
