Closing nightlife establishments early will not end violence or unacceptable behavior. Those individuals who part take in risky behavior will still be at large. Buffalo has become known for the 4 am closing. It is a huge part of the downtown economy and feeds the vitality of the city's after hours energy. This is a poorly designed proposal and negates progress to Buffalo's Renaissance.

I think the fact that certain individuals cannot state an exact reason for this time change that has existed in buffalo for many years without ever being an issue or cause for concern especially coming at a vital time for the city of Buffalo on the verge of a great resurgents is pathetic. It's decisions like these that have caused disastrous outcomes in Buffalo's past.

A lot more people will be in drinking and driving related accidents if not allowed the extra time in these places to process what they have drank before being forced to leave.

Like the gun issue the bars are not making people drive under the influence. Go after the criminal not the businesses.

The City has routinely killed one bar district for another...and now it looks like a County political move to help one privately held company.

What's wrong with closing at 4am? Don't fix something that isn't broken.

Very rarely do I close bars, but I don't see how a reduction would help drunk driving of all things. The same people would go to bars, they wouldn't go any earlier and the drunk idiots on the road at 4:30 AM would just be added into the drunk idiots at 2 AM, making it extremely unsafe to drive during that time. Additionally, this is another hit to businesses on Chippewa (that I haven't frequented since my more formative years) to that co-mingling law. Stop using drunk driving as a casus belli when the goal is simply the sanitization of the Buffalo party scene.
