A tight cluster of townhomes in this area is not something that we residents “will get used to.” That is a crass response to citizens’ objections. The traffic congestion and potential overcrowding of Round Elementary and other Manassas City schools are among the many detrimental and irreversible aspects of this planned development. Those of us who live in the area treasure the small forest and the wild creatures who live there. These are rare jewels amidst the encroaching data centers, townhouses, and light industrial buildings. We must preserve this wild area and the creatures who live there. Build townhouses where the brick factory and the abandoned DMV are. Leave our settled, quiet neighborhood alone.

How can you ignore the voice of the people? Aren't you supposed to be representing us? How do you choose a single individual who may have some high position when all the data about congestion, schools, neighborhood makeup, and citizen's voices tells you that's a really bad choice? There is no longer a balance of green space in Manassas City. It has lost it's old world, small town charm to greed. Just because you could do it doesn't mean you should do it.

I don’t want the zoning of this single family home neighborhood to be changed because of the effects on traffic and character of my existing neighborhood, Lee Manor.

Seems like an odd place to squeeze in a group of townhomes. There are no other townhomes along Hastings Road in Manassas w/in 2 miles. It's all single family residences.

STOP the building!! We DON’T need more homes. Manassas City, in some ways, doesn’t adequately care for the neighborhoods we currently have. So, please don’t add more and don’t make traffic worse on Hastings. The building and construction of all the new townhomes and commercial buildings has already gone too far! We moved here, into an ESTABLISHED neighborhood, thinking we would be living in a peaceful neighborhood and instead it’s become just another busy area. I do not support anymore building, especially more housing in our neighborhood.

The Walkscore for that parcel is between 9 and 16 (out of 100), meaning this parcel is NOT suitable for any density greater than single-family homes at the current by-right density. The City's Comp Plan and Strategic Plan call for making Manassas a "walkers paradise". As a we continue to lose green space and the city traffic is continuing to get worse "we"and by we the surrounding counties can't keep adding additional homes for tax revenues. We need to stop building homes and businesses to make up for the shortfalls in poor budgets.

How does this decision assist our lower income and most vulnerable residents? History shows that increased density actually increases public cost, hurting our working class families the most and sending them further away from good jobs. I don't understand how this decision helps those who need the most help.
