No to the rezone as not part of comprehensive plan. Also squeezing 28 townhouses on the five acres will increase vehicle traffic tremendously on the corner and suspect traffic lights will be needed at the intersection. This is not in the public's best interest,vote no!

This is another developer-oriented project that is not needed or wanted by the residents who live nearby. This development was on the radar at the time the comprehensive plan was approved, but there was no mention of it during the many meetings held to plan the city's future. We have townhouses around town closer to the VRE that are not selling. It's time for Manassas City to listen to the people who live in the neighborhoods that they want to drastically change.

Great Oak is a fabulous community with the mature surrounding woods, a reason people move here. The building of yet more townhouses is offensive to the area and Round Elementary cannot absorb additional children. The nature trails through the woods are a respite for the existing neighborhoods along with the wildlife already chased out by Micron and the 50 data centers that have been approved. Are you that against parks and greenspace?? Stop the Manassas City greed!!!!!!!!

This is an all-around bad idea! Overcrowding, new negative traffic patterns, damaging environmental issues- all are great reasons to avoid building a cluster of new townhomes. Keep the area zoned for single-family homes!

Seems like it would clash with the quiet character of the Great Oak neighborhood. I can see how someone looking to buy in the Great Oak neighborhood would have a bad first impression as they turned into the neighborhood from Hastings/Godwin. I'd much rather have either additional single family homes (1/4 acre each), or perhaps some lunch cafe options, but I prefer they just keep it as woods.
Our kids love the nature trail in those woods and use the cutover path as a safer route to get to the Round playground.

Please don’t rezone the property near Round Elementary. That is a safe and quiet neighborhood for elementary school, child play and bikers. That would make it noisy and high traffic. Thanks.

This proposal has the possibility of creating a dangerous precedent: namely, someone in a position of power can rezone to suit themselves.
There is insufficient infrastructure as it is for the current level of building going on. Tell us, where will the new schools go? They will be needed to prevent current / further overcrowding. How will you widen the roads? Does this impact the suffiency of the fire and rescue service? Has any of this been considered? How long do you spend in commutes? Do you want to add more time to it? Neither do we!
A year or two ago, Manassas was looking to designate a park on some one's front lawn and put a bench there because of insufficient green space / parks. It makes more sense for the city to buy this man's home and turn it into a park then townhomes!
Do not rezone!

There are already town houses close by at Cannon Branch, some near Grace Methodist Church, and across from All Saints Church.
There are single family homes right across the street on Godwin and Hastings.

We claim as a country that we care about climate change, but if that were true this would never be approved. There has too much development in this area in a very short period of time.
Data center, Micron Expansion, Tru by Hilton, cannon Ridge townhouses, widening of Nokesville Road to name a few. Yet there are no plans for a traffic study, an environmental study. Seriously?
