As a town resident, I definitely think traffic AND environmental impact studies should be done before rezoning is even considered.

Please think long and hard BEFORE committing a grave injustice to the tranquility of this beautiful area of Virginia.

Please reconsider this action before this amazing area of Virginia is spoiled by big business. Once it's gone you will never get it back! Your children and grandchildren will never know how it used to be.

This development will ruin the peace and tranquility of one of Abingdon's most valuable assets, one that draws may visitors to our area. As a B&B owner, I do not want to see this happen.

Abingdon! Get the facts before you are swayed by developers. Do not destroy the magic of the Creeper Trail area by building hotels, restaurants and a sports complex that doesn't meet tournament needs. The Trail attracts many tourists and nature lovers. Tax dollars may be lost by those who are totally turned off by development of the area. THINK of the consequences of your actions.

There are other places to build that do not infringe on the integrity of historic properties. This is not the way to be a good neighbor.

There is no need for another Exit 7. Abingdon is going to get it's unnecessary WalMart...so curb the greed a bit. The last thing anyone who makes a living from Abingdon's "uniqueness" should want is become another generic, tacky, cemented town-size interstate truck stop.

So thankful for all the work each individual has put forth for this. Going to be actively working on getting the word spread so we can stop this commercial development and preserve our beautiful land!

This will turn Abingdon, a destination town, into another bi-box abomination fueled by greed and tackiness.

Please preserve the beauty that we enjoy. There are plenty of other places to build or re-use existing shopping centers.

My father used to bring myself and my brother to the Creeper Trail when we were young. 20 years later, this is still a place that holds fond memories in my heart. Surely there are other areas that can house this commercial development.
