Don't Rezone! Preserve The Virginia Creeper Trail!

PLEASE do not rezone and destroy this beautiful piece of nature...there are few pieces of land we are able to go and visit left in the US...please preserve this one.

Not everything is about the bottom line, you need to do what's right. We need nature!

The Creeper Trail is a historic landmark of our town. Rezoning this area will take away one of our most beautiful attributes. This beautiful landscape has been a part of our town for generations. Hundreds of citizens and families visit the Creeper Trail every day for the immersive nature of the trail. We have more respect for our town and history than to take away part of the Creeper Trail like this.

Here's the problem, I just can NOT trust you guys to do as you say.

I would like to save The Creeper Trail but I'd also like to save my mom's house her is one of the houses they want to take

This is our home, we need to protect it not destroy it.

Why does the town want to place a Food City big box store one exit down from where there was a Walmart planned. The traffic problem will be the same. The traffic on Cummings Street is already over loading the streets capacity, so why add to the congestion. I don't see any options to alleviate the congestion. What happened to the plan presented years ago at the college to connect French Moore Blvd to Cook Street to alleviate traffic on Stone Mill Road onto Colonial Rd. I live on the SE corner of that intersection and the daily truck traffic is very disruptive to the neighborhood. Has Chief Sullivan been to the meetings and given his point of view on the amount of accidents that occur on Cummings Street weekly? My wife and I moved here 9 years ago after checking the whole region. We loved the peaceful atmosphere, quaint town amenities and the creeper trail which many of our friends from Virginia Beach have come to experience. Don't rezone!

I find it hard to believe Abingdon had a fit when Walmart wanted to come to exit 14, citing "historic preservation" but yet want to allow this to happen right in the middle of town.

I and my husband walked this trail with friends when we lived in Bristol. It is beautiful and although I am 81 years old and could never walk it again, I have beautiful memories and I hope and pray it will be there, undisturbed for many years and generations to come. There are plenty of places for more grocery stores if needed. DON'T REZONE!!! Please.

Keep the trail the same!

I visit Abingdon from PA and I love the beauty and tranquility of the trail for biking. PLEASE DON'T LET IT BE RUINED!

I think it would be a travesty to ruin one of the nicest places in the State.

Preserve Abingdon's peaceful areas. It is a treasure of a town and the flavor will be ruined by that location being developed.

We do NOT want any of this in Abingdon, VA. We sure don't need another Food City either.

Don't let greed overtake God's beauty!

The proposed plans would only improve the town by a marginal percentage. Just because K-VA-T is headquartered in Abingdon does not mean that it now has control over the future plans of Abingdon and it's residents.
