The supposedly “new” rezone map is the same as last years map. Which by the way, did nothing to alleviate the situation. This is not an expansive rezone as per Mr. Browning said it would be this time around. Same old routine of our neighborhood being the scapegoat. Fix the problem, instead of moving a few kids to say that you moved kids. We live 1.7 miles from JWMHS & SSMS and it’s part of our community. Keep our kids at these schools and in our community.

The proposed map does very little to relieve overcrowding at JWMHS/SSMS and creates overcrowding at RRMS/RRHS. Along with breaking feeder pattern and elevated transportation costs the proposed map creates more problems than it solves.

SSMS and JWMHS have always been our neighborhood schools. Please don't take us away from the schools that we know and consider the map that includes area 12. We are so close (2 miles) to the schools it is so unnecessary that you move us to a school that is roughly 8 miles away. This whole rezoning has caused all of our families so much stress and you should make it right by keeping area 12 right where we are.

As a current 9th grader at JW Mitchell, I feel comfortable with the friendships I have mades since Middle School and continue to grow these relationships now in HS. I don't want to switch schools after feeling comfortable at this school. Changing schools would take me away from the community I am building at this school. I have a comfort level and as a teen that is hard to always find.

As a rising 9th grader, I would like to attend JW Mitchell and the school my sister currently attends. Please don't pull me away from my friends who I have known for the last 3 years who are able to go. These friendships are what help us feel part of a school community and one reason I enjoy going to school.

I take pride in being able to attend JWMHS for both academics and Band opportunities unique to JWMHS. I live less than 1 1/2 mile from the school and am very much a part of this community which includes JWMHS and take pride in my community. I don't understand moving me from a school that is less than 1 1/2 mile away and one that I've taken pride in. The stress of having to go through yet another rezone is taking it's toll not only on myself, but my friends and family. Please don't rezone area 12, Ellington Estates and Long leaf.

While I am trying to understand the logic behind all of this, the bottom line is that this is splitting our neighborhood. I live at one of the bus stops that is used for both RRMS/RRHS then again with SSMS/MHS. My son watches his friends go to RRMS, then he goes to SSMS. It was a tough decision, but we switched him in the middle of the year. Now he will be switched back to RR which he does not like? And for what, a handful of children? Frustrating and unnecessary...

Not fair to our kids....make this right! Anxiety and confusion is high because of this rezone and we are exhausted from it..please put yourself in our shoes for just 1 minute

Putting our families through ANOTHER rezone is cruel and unnecessary! Stop moving our kids around!! We live 2 miles from our schools! Do not move us to a school in a community with which we are completely unfamiliar! Our kids have been through quite enough!!!

This map is the same as the one the judge voided. Kurt Browning is retaliating once again and this abuse of power needs to be stopped by those elected into office chosen to be that voice. Board members, please do the right, fair and just thing and be that voice. Choose to keep area 12 in their community school and not spend additional taxpayers dollars on more litigation. The litigation needs to stop and that will happen once the board chooses to keep area 12 at SSMS/JWMHS. If you need to remove children from these schools, then you need to focus on moving the west side to AHS/PRSMS the under capacity schools. Not focus on overcrowding RR schools.

I feel that Kurt Browning is cowering down from doing the inevitable and filling PRSMS/AHS and instead retaliating against neighborhood 12 by presenting this same map again. We need the board to do what they are there to do and that is have a voice and do what is right. Board member- you need to veto sending area 12 out of their community.

I do not feel that the new map sends us to a less crowded school and I do not want to go to River Ridge. Instead, I want to stay in my neighborhood and the community I am part of in every way. Our school does not feel overcrowded and please consider keeping this small area 12 where we are at SSMS/JWMHS instead of uprooting us.

The objective of the rezone was to reduce overcrowding at SSMS/JWMHS and to fill the west side schools such as PRSMS/AHS. The opposite has occurred with the map from last year and the exact same map created again this year moving area 12 to another overcrowded facility and leaving PRSMS/AHS well under capacity. The board needs to speak up and do what is best for their community and veto this map that is being presented in retaliation. Leave area 12 be. Choose consistency for these children and focus on filling the schools that need filled.

I understand the need to rezone to lessen overcrowding but this plan doesn’t address overcrowding. It is a retaliatory slap in the face for the districts unlawful and unfaithful rezone last year. The school board should be ashamed of themselves for wasting tax payers money fighting area 12 last year and allowing Kurt browning to put the same rezone maps (which doesn’t accomplish overcrowding/undercrowding).
I go to Seven Springs and I do not want to change.
