As a resident of Wellesley, north of route 9, I strongly oppose any redistrict mapping that requires my child to cross route 9 to attend elementary school.

This is a safety issue, I cannot even imagine a schoolbus or a car with children getting in an accident and the repercussions the schoolboard and town would face. I'm honestly very fearful of safety. Close whatever school makes the most sense to close, but do not make families cross route 9.

The safety issue alone should remove this option.

Crossing route 9 without overpass or underpass for so many residents should not be the solution.

675 Worcester St Actually living on Rt 9 and seeing how fast all the cars drive by my house is terrifying and to think children will have to cross this to get to school safely everyday is just as terrifying. Sometimes it takes me 10 minutes to get out of my driveway due to the speed of vehicles or traffic.

73 Audubon Road There is one simple decision for redistricting. Rebuild Upham. We should not choose to put K-5 students at risk in either cars or on foot to cross route 9 two thousand unnecessary times during their elementary school years.

I attended the very first presentation proposing rebuilding the schools when Upham was to be rebuilt. All the studies including demographic, feasibility, economic and geographical made the best, most logical and most cost efficient sense. Since that time we have spent years and thousands and thousands of dollars to get back to where we started, that Upham should be rebuilt without a doubt. Let’s do the right thing and rebuild Upham.

The Hardy 3 map increases the number of children without safe routes to school and additionally increases the traffic burden on an already stressed commuting route. Why would we want more children trying to cross a major road with stressed commuters. Doesn’t seem like a child-safety centric solution.

Can not increase pedestrian traffic across route 9. Unmitigated disaster for children, will parents, and any commuters west of Cliff road.

This map sacrifices safety for others’ convenience. Anyone who treats rte 9 like anything other than the state highway that it is, has never watched their child attempt to cross it during a busy morning commute. Preposterous that this continues to be treated as if it is trivial.
