Safety concerns with North of Route 9 to redistrict to Sprague

I have 3 active boys that would like to be able to ride their bike to school one day. The town has always supported that ideal. That does not happen crossing Route 9 in elementary school. This is simply a safety issue. Please amend the Hardy map for the children. Thank you for your consideration.

Having Elementary students cross Route 9 is not a good option. Adding traffic more traffic to route 9 is not a good idea either.

maintaining the sort of community that sets wellesley apart starts with the neighborhood schools

It is totally unfair and unreasonable to expect small children to cross rt 9 and/or add to the already busy traffic to cross rt 9 via car to take kids to school. This is just asking for a problem or worse.

I strongly oppose redistricting elementary students across Route 9. Requiring families to cross Route 9 during peak hours will only exacerbate traffic, create additional bottlenecks, and create even more safety concerns. The safety of our elementary students should be the priority!

Hardy 3 map make absolutely no sense. You are splitting an entire neighborhood and sending them to a school ACROSS route 9. It’s not just a few streets -it’s half of the cliff neighborhood! No one is going to want to by a house there because no one will want to have to drive their grammar school age across route 9 every day. Please find a better solution that makes more sense.

Please don't add to the already challenging Route 9 cross traffic!

Agree with the points raised here. Crossing route 9 would be a nightmare and doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Elementary students crossing Route 9 is a major safety concern and should be avoided.

Neighborhood schools are an important part of what makes Wellesley a special and desirable community. I vote no on Hardy option.

This seems ridiculous that you would have zones crossing Route 9 when you can have actual Hardy zones easily redistrict to Sprague without crossing Rt 9.

Please keep Upham kids from having to cross Route 9! This is not seem to be in the best interest of the children of the Upham District. Safety of our children should be the priority.

Children and parents crossing Route 9 during peak rush hour in the morning should not be an option. NO on Hardy option.

Requiring such a large number of households to cross Route 9 is an unsafe option - I vote no on the Hardy option.
