We do not support the proposed Hardy redistricting map that increases the number of families crossing route 9. Please reconsider and improve the Hardy map.

It does not make logical sense to increase the number of kids who have to cross route 9 when there is a solution that closely mirrors the distribution of children north/south of route 9 (50-50).

We moved to the Upham area so our kids could walk to school. All 3 have since walked and been driven to/from WMS & WHS, crossing Rt 9. Based on our experience, this part of Rt. 9 is extremely unsafe for pedestrians (and challenging for cars); there's no way additional foot or car traffic should be added, especially for elementary age kids.

My children attended Upham and as mom of older kids (who will be driving and drive) I will not allow them to cross Rte 9 in the car until they get experience under their belt. That is a very busy Rt. Scary to think of the children crossing . They should be able to get to school comfortably and not cause them anxiety every day about getting themselves there.

It is not safe to have our kids walking or riding bikes to school if you do not protect the route 9 sidewalks - which are a total mess. Keep our kids biking!

When we moved to Wellesley 9 years ago, we specifically purchased our home BECAUSE our children could ride their bikes to school (Upham), which they did regularly with working parents. Crossing Route 9 is an accident waiting to happen. Thank you for your consideration.
