Final supporters
Currently, parking costs 20 dollars for students and 50 for staff per year. Sign this petition to prevent the parking charge increase that is proposed for Fall 2016.
Although the reason for this increase is to build a garage, better options must be looked into. Charging $155 dollars to park at a dorm building should not occur if you are already paying to live on campus (when its also much cheaper to live off campus). Lets work together to come up with a more reasonable parking scheme that utilizes modern technology to keep costs down and students happy!

Raising parking fee's is not going to do anything other than hurt students finances. This is ridiculous as we will pay more and not receive better parking or even be guaranteed parking. This is especially heinous for education majors who will only be on campus seven weeks.
I agree that the parking price increase is ridiculous. The administration is trying to implement big campus ideas on a small campus. We are not UTK or UTC, so we should not be expected to pay $130 more for a parking spot that doesn't even exist yet.
The logic behind this is ridiculous. Why would Tech not be responsible and budget the money just like your typical company? Why should you be charging students now for something used years from now? Just another reason SGA is important and an effiencent one at that.
The prices are too high for those of us who aren't even going to have access to the parking garage. We are used to the parking we already utilize, and basically, we are getting charged more for parking spots that are farther away.
I already pay a fee just to be in the nursing program; I shouldn't have to pay extra to park behind the building all of my classes are in, especially when I only have classes on campus 2 days a week.
They don't need to raise its already high enough
I already pay for the fitness center and I don't use it. I also pay for parking and I don't use that either. They want to jack up the price of something some people don't need because they get dropped off and picked up. I already have to pay for gas out of my pocket going both ways everyday.

I understand that in order for our campus to grow we must generate funds, but this massive increase in parking pass prices is absurd. If this is a must, then at least steadily increase the price year-to-year as opposed to slapping everyone with a huge markup all at once.
