Unfair for the girls when they're forced in purchasing their logo skirts from the school uniform suppliers. If the skirts are too short, sort out the suppliers NOT punish the girls.

I think that are mental health is getting exploited from over worry of what are appearance from teachers commments are and then so getting sanctions.girls are all different shapes and sizes so they can't be expected to all wear the skirt the same way and feel comfortable. This whole issue is distracting us from the important things like our tests and creating unnecessary distraction. Xx

If you buy the longest skirt length available courtesey of your approved seller then how can parents be held accountable for what we buy....you chose those lengths not us. Maybe concentrate on quality teaching as apposed to rediculous threats that no parent can do anything about anyway.....maybe Ms Phull can suggest a way in which we the poor parent can rebuy these skirts that don't exist and maybe she can replenish my money tree while she does it!

it’s dumb did you see her own skirt yesterday? it was above her knee too. so before she starts commenting on something we have no power over( both body shape size and the suppliers measurement scheme) she should sort her own bloody skirt out

While i can understand the proposed need for certain length, the current school uniform skirts are disproportionate to the female anatomy. As the length increases linearly with the waist size, these two measurements have little to no correlation. A very tall person with a slim waistline would end up having the skirt much higher up her leg than Is otherwise intended. The school should consider finding suppliers with more lenient customisation of the clothing or simply buy from a supplier that manufacturers skirts with longer lengths for each waist size. This is easier said than done, however it seems unfair to blame students with little control over the dimensions of their body for dressing inappropriately, when the suggested skirts are ill-tailored for the schools uniform dress code.

The skirts need to be a different design without the large waist band and come in longer lengths. It's the drop waist band that causes the problem.

Never had a member of my own year group comment on my skirt, or any other pupil for that matter. You can’t claim to preapare us for a ‘work environment’ when the demographic which actually goes into that career not only CHOOSES it, but is an incredibly small minortiy of pupils. If you’re sexualising pupils/children at all, especially in an educational setting WITH a power imbalance, you’re clearly the problem.

Even though I’ve technically left now I can 100% agree with this. The school skirts are provided by the school so if they want us to wear them then they need to ssshhh. If being able to “see our bum cheeks” is an issue then let’s us wear jeans where they are properly covered :)
