Massive application of herbicides and algaecides will have long-term negative effects throughout the lake area. This is a short-sighted plan.

To much at risk--not good for ducks/geese/crawfish and small fish.

Please do not poison Candlewood with pesticide application. It's unhealthy to the residents on the lake, fish in the lake, and the natural ecosystem around the lake. Please do not destroy one of Connecticut's most precious resources.

An alernative to harsh chemicals should be used

Please give the carp more time to address the problem. One season is not enough - especially considering that the watermilfoil had many unobstructed years to grow. Chemicals are never the right answer.

A very risky application of dangerous herbicides. Please rethink this short -term, poisonous solution

I learned to swim in our beautiful lake. My children learned to swim in our beautiful lake. I have spent the better part of my 47 summers on and in our beautiful lake. DO NOT PUT CHEMICALS IN OUR BEAUTIFUL LAKE! People who are educated on this matter, in science, are against YOU putting chemicals in our lake. Get off your high horse and LISTEN!

I am a New Fairfield resident who was part of the committee to stock grass carp in Ball Pond and has advocated over the years for a comprehensive lake management plan for Candlewood Lake. This takes time, vigilance and commitment. The chemical treatments is the quick fix without regard for the long term effects. What we need from our government is support of CLA who advocates for a safe and healthy lake, not only for our immediate wants but for the sustainability of the lake for use and enjoyment of future generations. This is not a swimming pool this is an ecosystem. Lets protect and enhance it.

This is considered one of the 100 best places to fish in the country and we should keep it that way. Candlewood is the only place in Connecticut with this kind of reputation and i would hate for this to no longer be the case.

Please do NOT approve the use of these chemicals in our lake! I am a New Fairfield resident. We have other solutions that are safer for the water, the fish, and the people swimming.
