I have lived by a lake in NJ where they did this and it completely ruined the fishing and the spawn the following year. Let the lake be!!

The use of weed killing chemicals always results in a breakdown in the food cycle causing a bass population crash. They have been doing that in the eastern part of the state and it can take a lake 10 years to recover.
The people selling the chemical system will mislead the public because they consider fishing inconsequential. I have been to meetings and questioned them directly.
The people who live on the lake don't want people from out of town using the lake.

This is just so wrong on so many levels.
There are many safer alternatives to managing the lake without resorting to this!

As a longtime boater & fisherman, I oppose the application of herbicides which will damage a great fishery and limit the water clarity of beautiful Candlewood Lake.

I've witnessed the spraying in many lakes over the years and they have had negative impacts on the fisheries. No good!!

Sportsman don't pay for licenses for towns to poison the water. I grew up swimming in Candlewood and the runoff from yards already gets people sick, adding pesticides sounds irresponsible.

I have seen nesting Bald Eagles at the lake over the past few years. New Fairfield residences are really going to risk killing these beautiful birds. If the eagles consume the fish from the lake, they can surely ingest the poisonous herbicides that you want to spray into THE PEOPLES lake (not the New Fairfield's Lake).
