I'm from Mass but fish Candlewood on a regular basis. We've many of our fisheries destroyed here in Mass due to pesticides. The weeds might be gone, but the water quality after is horrible and destroys the fish's habitats and food source.

Adding these chemicals to the lake will destroy the fishing. Candlewood lake is regularly ranked as a top 100 bass lake in the country and draws in a lot of business due to its world class fishing. It needs to remain this way.

This is the best lake in CT to fish. This would completely ruin it.

The well being of the ecosystem should be the top priority. Please work with fisheries biologists before putting a toxin in the lake.

Candlewood Lake is one of best lakes in New England. It has been in BASS's Bassmaster Magazine's top 100 lakes for the past few years. Fishing alone brings a lot of money to the all surrounding towns, (i.e. hotel stays, tackle store purchases, gas stations, food and drink and restaurant purchases). If you kill the grass in this lake you will kill the food for the fish, which would be detrimental to the ecosystem. The use of chemicals is such a drastic measure to kill grass for swimmers, but I think other options should be researched and explored by the Candlewood Lake Authority, (to keep the homeowners and swimmers happy) before we go destroying such a wonderful lake's fishery. This will destroy the fishery and hurt the economy, please change your course of action before it's too late.

Candlewood provides a stronger economy. Anglers come from multiple states and inject money into the surrounding communities via hotels, food, gas, etc. altering, or destroying candlewood would directly impact the economic benefits and reduce drawing power in terms of people.
