Bad idea, band aids don't fix things, you need to address the real problems, only then will you solve the issues. Fix the run-off issues this is what cause the blooms, the algae blooms will go away after the run-off is stopped.

I have see first hand how using pesticides and other chemicals to control Allgie and grass have destroyed the ecosystem of lake okeechobee down in Florida and how it affects the economy surrounding the lake. It would be a wrong to do the same thing to a lake as beautiful as candle wood

Kill the grass, kills the fish population, so people can swim and ride around in boats..........no sense!

No chemicals! Whatever goes in the lake should be natural and organic. Maybe they should think about limiting motor boats. Oil spills don't help it any. Also whatever happens should be approved by all the counties.

Candlewood Lake is one of the premier smallmouth fisheries in the northeast. We're fortunate to have it so close to home, and I hope that the right decision can be made in this case to save not just tournament fishing there for years to come, but a lot of beautiful and quality fish that live in the lake too.

No lake property owner in their right mind would approve of this application of poison to the lake, and I certainly don't. I'm envisioning an interested buyer with children Googling Candlewood Lake and discovering that the lake is laced with poison. Whatever the real facts are on the use of pesticides, this application is certain to drive down the property values of all homes on the lake (and this very debate probably already has). People don't really do extensive research: they see "poison" in their Google search and they bolt. Plus I don't want to swim in pesticides.

Herbicides and algaecides are a last and worst option, Town officials have no right to ruin a lake in this way.
