The Village has already been deformed by the replacement of modest old houses with hulking oversized ones. Please use your powers to preserve the integrity of historic Sag Harbor.

As a resident of Chatfield Hill for 20 years I understand the importance of community with its interdependence of neighbors who are committed to each other and their surroundings. We need to protect our precious community and its history from indifferent developers

Developers are buying and putting two lots together to avoid the 4,000 limit.
There are very few lots that can be combined in the Sans area.
Even combined lots should be held to the 4000 limit. Anything else would be out of character for our community.
If 48 Lincoln wants a bigger house. go and buy property in an area with larger lots and houses.
Even the 1 acre property in Sans should be held to the 4,000 code.
I have .33 acres and we were held to not building a house larger than 2,500 sq feet.
and we accepted that decision.

Our village is special in part because the size of our houses reflects an earlier time which gives us all a sense of relaxation and coziness. Large house destroys that ambiance and actually destroys the value of the town real estate as a whole.

Demolishing a house that is 1,450 sf to build one that is over 4,000 sf is out-of-scale development in Sag Harbor Hills, Azurest & Ninevah.

Do not ruin the character of Sag Harbor that we love . Large out of character houses would destroy the uncommon charm of Sag Harbor

This, of course, is a nationwide problem. It pits those who have built and preserved their towns and neighborhoods by living in and being involved in these places over the years against the newer buyers who want to buy in to that ambiance- but because of their ignorance, will destroy the very thing they're buying.

The Bowser presence in Sag dates back to 1880. This historic Black community deserves to be preserved as the cottage community that allowed it to blossom!!
Stop the plutocratic domination of our community.
