I cannot stress how so very shocked and upset I was when I heard that Denise Stevens was being made redundant ! as a nurse myself I know how important it is to have someone medically trained to deal with the many conditions that children can suffer from or to be first on hand if there is an accident or injury. There have been many occasions when Nurse Stevens has known exactly what to do when a child has needed medical attention, indeed so not so long ago she helped with a pupil who had been bullied and injured at the school.

Losing nurse Stevens will be losing the key component to the school. She is more than just a medic, she is a sympathetic ear and a reason a lot of children made it through school.

Making redundancies of the Support staff at Magdalen is a terrible idea and a step in the wrong direction.

I had problems with my eldest in her early teenage years and mrs Stevens was brilliant to her and supported me. It will be a massive loss if she is made redundant

Nurse Stevens was the main person to get me back into school. When I had my crash the main thing I wanted to do to take my mind of everything was to come back to school. She is one of the only members of staff in that school who will put in 110% to everything she does. She treats everyone in that school how she would want her kids to be treated and I feel that it is so unfair and completely wrong for her to be made redundant.

Nurse Srevens is the only one pupils can go to with any issues. She supports students so much. She works through her luches, breaks. She is the one pupils will go to when Teachers have no time, or appear not to care.

Our Children's well being are paramount and Nurse Stevens is an invaluable part of this. Everyday she goes beyond her duty as the school nurse and although personally my son has had minimal contact with her she has assessed his rugby knocks and saved GP appointments. Its of great reassurance to know she is onsite not only from a patents perspective, the resources of the NHS and most importantly that of my child. Who I know takes great reassurance in the fact that he can visit her if so required. Nurse Stevens is exceptional at her job and would be very hard to replace in the same category, please think of the children's health and well being as paramount when coming to this decision, and would have detrimental effects on so many children's education.

I cannot believe that mcs has the stupidity to get rid of her!! she is not only a nurse, she is a friend and also a perfect listener. She makes it her job to know her students needs and welfare. A great all rounder who not only has helped my daughters but many more! Who is going to be there now? So much for the welfare of the school eh!!!!!!!!!!
