As a 2002 graduate, this small, family like school, was the best experience I could ever have. Making it bigger will lose the family like atmosphere. Keep Dixie 1A!!

Dixie can not compete with the bigger schools. Leave Dixie a 1A school so they can play on a level playing field. Dixie class of 1997

The SCHSL does not care if Dixie is good at sports or not this was strictly done because of the number of students that attend the school. Actually Dixie isn't even the smallest school in this reclassification of 2A so instead of whining I suggest working harder to compete to be a powerhouse. It's not all about numbers it certainly helps but a small school can be very good athletically. Suck it up because the high school league does not care. You can't change your competition but you can work to better yourselves and maybe that'd be the best idea for Dixie

The student athletes at Dixie High School deserve to be able to compete against other schools of comparable size.

I once played for Dixie and we always haves struggled to win until the new coach came in and stepped up. The boys are hard working on the field and out of the field but moving them up to 2a against teams like Abbeville who are stacked will be a bunch of bs. The game would not be fair anymore. Keep Dixie as they are where they have a fighting chance against schools. Thanks

This is not a conspiracy to do away with Dixie or make them suck at sports. The SCHSL, not the county, bases the rank on number of students. Enrollment goes up, so does classification from 1A to 2A school. All anyone does is worry about sports. You're possibly moving to 2A classification. Yay! Student enrollment is up at Dixie!
