You would think with the historical connection to Italian POWs there would be some enthusiasm for this project.

Sad to see a lack of common sense (again) from the planning committee

This has to be one of the most ill-judged, ludicrous, and near laughable pieces of planning control EVER. Makes Shetland and the SIC look ridiculous - whatever the supposedly well-intended reasons behind it. Environmental reasons by backside. Next we'll have to ban Sunday teas to conform with this legislation.

Lunatic to think we shouldn't drive. Who are Frankie's clientelle? Only 1/2 mile radius? I don't think so! Shetland NEEDS an Italian restaurant. My favourite is Poldinos and that's a much longer journey! Aberdeen!!!!

I live in Shetland, known for its oil, agricultural and fishing industries. So to promote the Islands, their local produce and aid the economy,. the best solution I can think of is to build an Italian Restaurant slap bang in the middle of its natural beauty hahahaha - seriously I still can't stop laughing about this!

Oh and I wonder where these planners live - Lerwick probably. Well I don't and NEED to drive everywhere to do anything including buying food. They need their heads knocking together - I'm offering!

I wouldn't mind driving to a nice restaurant, plus If I wanted a meal out I'd have to drive to it anyway, The people making the decisions need their head checking

We need something like this in Delting Area, Olna Firth views can be stunning

This would be good for the area, something different which I'm sure would be popular. Their reasons for turning it down were unfair.

Other eating houses in more remote places have been allowed - so why not here? Sounds like a personal grudge, or am I a cynic? Let natural selection ensue; if it's too remote or in the wrong place the business will not last long...

Keep at it Henry, common sense should prevail over stupidity.
