Don't let the planners decide where you can and can't eat!

As a frequent business visitor to Shetland, I for one would certainly welcome an Italian restaurant, serving a warm hearty, Latin, varied menu.
Interestingly using local produce which normally gets exported to France, Italy & Spain.
It beats the hum drum hotel restaurant menus of double, triple fried chips.
I've done Lerwick & Scalloway to death.
So SIC stop agonising over the planet, so that I don't have to drive around looking for somewhere to eat something different.

I could really see looking over the Loch and eating fantastic home prepared Pizzas in Shetland.
It is a cracking idea which is forward looking to when the oil & gas stops.
Tourism!!! Shetland is such a fantastic place to see and this type of enterprise will help with new jobs and diversity of food.

As stupid a decision as it is possible to imagine. It truly beggars belief. Roughly half the population of Shetland do not live in Lerwick!

Fabulous idea from a gem of a guy, give him and his fantastic restaurant a chance! We need something like this in Shetland, real authenticity, it would be amazing!

I fully support the opening of the restaurant. I think their decision is ridiculous. All the best to you and good luck.

Ridiculous decision. I hope permission is granted on appeal. Whatever happened to SIC's commitment to decentralisation?

I already have to drive 25+ miles to get a takeaway or go to a restaurant so can't see the problem. Even people living in Lerwick drive to restaurants!

The decision of the Planning people makes no sense. There is not ONE place in Shetland that I do not already have to drive to. A new place at Olna would be very much nearer than some I travel to for an evening out. Thus SAVING on fuel and Global warming, which has to be the daftest reason I have ever heard for refusing Planning permission.

This would be a fabulous place to go to. Not everyone wants to drink on a night out, look at Busta, Burristow House and the Briewick Café!!!

For goodness sake SIC be sensible and let us have a pizza restaurant at Parkgate. Your excuses to decline the planning application are beyond ridiculous.

Think an Italian would be great! Can't see what the problem is.....We have to take a car to wherever we eat at!
