There is a 1 in 10 chances catastrophic climate change and we are still pursuing carbon rather than renewables. Even if you do manage to not cause environmental destruction locally (which with the current regulations you will do) you will do globally- there is more than enough evidence of methane leakage at fracking sites.

I live in Manchester not too far from where a closely monitored (!) little frac (!) caused earthquakes and other substantial repercussions.
My folks are from North Lincs and this weighty consultation should be given much longer for due democratic process to occur. Ultimately I hope this development is not allowed for all our sakes. There are alternatives for energy security in renewables if only the political will calls for it.

Local councils must be consulted and given the opportunity to consider and respond to such proposals. Fracking should NEVER be imposed on any community; if the community wants fracking, then let it be so.

I'm from South Yorkshire but believe there isn't enough time being given to debate these issues. Companies are pushing too hard too fast to make sure people don't get to have a say.

This stupid, arrogant and dangerous action of trying to force fracking on the population of this country is going to end in disaster. If we don't prevent it.

I've spent time in Calgary and experienced first hand what fracking does to a community, the land, buildings and of course toxic water table. I also have a undergrad degree in Applied Geology.
