Although we cannot confirm the accuracy of these rumors, we -liberal democrats hoping for a better cultural political future- believe it is very unfortunate if a visionary politician like MP Samaraweera is been sidelined in favor of some self appointed populist leaders.
We believe not only Samaraweera's tactical mastery is viral for UNP's victory, his presence is extremely important to guide a future UNP government in a more progressive political-cultural path.
We, hereby urge UNP and it's leadership to stop ill-treating MP Samaraweera and let him contribute for the victory of party in coming election.

You have to be in the UNP and have to fight this corrupted government and the corrupted politicians within the UNP. I strongly believe you are the only one who can bring the opposition together in Sri Lanka. Mr Ranil Wickramasinghe might do and say some silly things when he's under stress or in desperate situations. But please take them on your chin and face it. Our mother land need a change. Please see the bigger picture. Your name will be written in gold in our history books one day. If no one do anything to change this government, we will see another somalia in 10 years time. If Mangala, goes we must as well resign ourself to the end of democracy and end of hope. By stadinding by his convictions and openly advocating liberal democratic values he gave us hope of a light at the end of tunnel

Mangala is a treasure for UNP and they must keep him for their own good. Mangala is a creative and genuine politician as I know him from the begining. If RW is choosing Sajith for tactical reasons, he must know that only Sajith distance members from the party than taking them for victory. UNP also has bunch of rogues and un skillful "Horu" at parties expence. Dont take Mangala into that category. Keep him or stay in the opposition for another 20 years.
