This is a part of the local beach culture and it needs to be preserved!! Hawaii will continue to change for the worse if we keep letting people with money buy everything out

Dive Oahu doesnt care about the culture. Doesn’t care about the community. This is my home. Home to many who learned how to surf in south shore. To have someone come in just because they have money doesn’t make it right. You’re taking away the last bit of culture we have left to our home in south shore. Understand Hawaiiians brought surfing to the world. You let someone who doesn’t know the culture and make it a money market. You lose the true meaning behind it. People don’t come to the islands to feel like they are in Miami. They come to learn about the culture, to surf with Uncles who have surfed this breaks for years. And what’s going to happen when south shore swell does come in. This guys won’t know water safety. Don’t know the breaks like the Waikiki beach boys do. It’s also a safety problem. Not just losing the culture. This completely breaks my heart. Keep the culture alive hawaii!! It’s all we have left now!!

Please, don't allow a money grab to destroy the rich history and hertiage of the beach boys. All whom appreciate the beachs and the ocean embrace the authenticity of the real beach boy experience - 'corporatizing' serves only line pockets while destroying a cornerstone of the tourist and local beach and surf experience! Please, please, reconsider this error in judgment!

Please reconsider this bidding process. From my view it looks like the bid requirements were STACKED AGAINST the locals. If you're requirements are to be met, allow the locals to have time to meet them. No uniforms and name tags. That might work at Disney...but not Hawai'i.
