That”s just wrong someone taking over don’t know what they doing trying to take over The (the beach boys) they been doing this for generations, as there lifestyle can’t come and change there style!!! Money is not everything!!

I stand in support for the Waikiki Beach Boys and their long tradition of sharing aloha through surf. I understand there was a bid that Dive Oahu won but some things cannot be and should not be bought. Hawaiians and their culture, their traditions, their aloha should be respected. Let the Waikiki Beach Boys stay on Kuhio beach whe they belong!

It was the beachboys who taught me how to surf and changed my life. Every other morning for a year, I'd run 30 mins down to kuhio and rent a long board for 2 to 3 hours so I could learn how to catch waves. These guys changed my life for the better, no joke! Closing them down for some soulless dive shop is a dagger to the heart of modern Hawaiian culture and the spirit of surfing.

Some of the beach boys are my hanai family. I grew up going to Waiks and enjoying it with them. It is a shame that this is going on and I am against it. With all the things going on that take away from the people of Hawaii and go to non-locals or the 1% in Kakaako, Ala Moana Beach Park, and now Waikiki, when will it end???

The Beach Boys need to stay. As a surfer in Hawaii, I live with respect for my elders and those that came before. I sign this for those I look up to like Uncle Duke, Rabbit, Buffalo, Eddie, and all the other great watermen who built surfing culture for us all to enjoy. Aloha and mahalo nui to all those that laid the foundation.
No Hawaiians on the beach...no Aloha...
