I married into a Beach Boy ohana... SteamBoat Mokuahi, my father in law, was one of the original, elite Waikiki Beach Boys alongside Duke Kahanamoku. His sons, Samson, Sammie, the late Bernie Ching, and my husband Kevin were all raised as Beach boys. They were the epitome of aloha, living a life of respect and love that was shared with the patrons of Waikiki Beach, local and tourist. These qualities were passed on and instilled in their families and are still cherished to this day. I am proud to be a part of the Hawaiian culture and the Beach Boy ohana...

I grew up working beach boy stands I don't think it is safe to bring a whole set of new workers to the beach. People will die.

I will not use nor recommend surf lessons or even board rental with Dive Oahu should they take over the contract in Waikiki. Furthermore, I will advise everyone I know to use any other service or no service at all over the alternative.

The City must allow due process for a matter that could change Waikiki forever. Star Beachboys has an injunction hearing scheduled in court in July, yet the City is in a rush to replace both Kuhio Beach Stands with a new company this week. We also are awaiting the City to respond to our letter and phone calls.

I have no comment on these people who wanna take away the beach boy tradition im only disappointed on them because they making hawaii more for tourist then for the people
