Perhaps you all are more aware of Illegal Violation Citations issued in this area than we are that involved "kayakers"? WHY are you all still blaming kayakers and refusing to acknowledge YOUR GROUPS VIOLATORS? Contact USFW to get your facts straight, and whoever else issues Citations in this area: MCSO, AZGF etc. LEAVE THE "KAYAKERS" OUT OF YOUR PROBLEMS. THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING ILLEGAL, ONLY WANTED SAFE PASSAGE THROUGH THIS WILDLIFE REFUGE ON QUIET BACKWATERS.

There has been only 2 recorded citations given at this part of the river in reference to conflicts between skiers and kayakers. Guess what the same kayaker was behind both of them. THERE HAS BEEN ZERO ACCIDENTS IN THAT AREA DATED BACK TO 1979!!! this is all public record anyone can look it up. This is facts not someone being overly dramatic and trying to intimidate others with his copy and paste skills from the coast guard handbook.

Wow, glad you can spend the time to post about the past. My heart goes out to the families of the one's lost. I personally, and my family, was close to some of the people that you shared the links about. So by you showing the public those links, it shows why we are worried about our children going into areas that stuff does happen. I, myself, being raised in Lake Havasu with my family who owned a boat shop. And now me being a owner of a marine shop as well. With facts that can follow that this is a very very dangerous thing to do by closing this area to put kids and families in more danger. Reason why is because I know that all the links you shared where in a complete different areas of the lake. Majority of them drinking was involved. We are trying are hardest to stay away from the area's where there is high traffic and people drinking. The Lake Havasu Marine Association has done a lot of great improvements to the lake to help. If there is people chased away from water sports and boating in Lake Havasu what would happen to the city? Where would the city be if it didn't have the marine industry it does? There are reason's why so many people choose to buy second homes here and spend every weekend here they can making memories with there families.

This decision was made by USFW. Kayakers have no authority to make any decisions on anything in the Refuge. Suggest your group contact them.

Just WHO and WHEN was anything "offered" by the skiers? After it was too late and the decision had been put in place?

Show us proof stop talking show us proof of accidents and oui's in this area. We all know your good at talking and attempting to scare people but let's see proof. There are 2 safety incidents on record just for your info. Nobody was hurt in either incident.

Thank you Katie for pointing out the dangers and the problems with alcohol-involved with boating. Many Citations have been issued in this area, including OUI.

The good thing is you got big government to come in and protect you again. Just what we need more rules and regulations.

Rvr lvr: Just WHEN was anything done to TRY to work something out? AFTER the "Modification No Wake Zone" was put in place due to numerous illegal boating violations, including OUI's? Kayakers cannot give permission for violating Navigation Laws in the Refuge.

MISCONCEPTIONS OF NAVIGATION LAW BY RECREATIONAL SKI-BOAT OPERATORS The following are the 'legal definitions' from the (CFR) Code of Federal Regulations : A "towing vessel" means a commercial vessel engaged in the service work of pulling, pushing, or hauling alongside. A vessel restricted in its ability to maneuver" means a commercial vessel which from the nature of its service work is restricted in its ability to maneuver. BOTH of the above definitions apply to 'Vessel Assist' towing a disabled boat home. NEITHER of the above definitions apply to recreational vessels engaged in the towing of recreational water skiers. Rvr lvr: Kayakers were willing to work with skiers. Didn't happen. We were told to "leave this area" "this is our ski area". Kayakers did not make the decision to close this area. Illegal Ski/Boating Violations did it; along with endangered species and nesting areas being violated.

The really sad part is the ski community was willing to work with the kayakers and create a education and safety awareness program. Taking money out of our own pockets to pay for extra bouys and signage and the few Kayakers responsible for this whole thing REFUSED to work with us. This right here shows their agenda. Obviously we can tell when Capt. B Warner does not get his way he gets very aggressive and defensive. Keep up the great work Capt ruining the lake for thousands of families.

Who issued the citations? By innocent other users... You mean kayakers... Correct? I'm just trying to keep my facts straight.
