With parks getting few and far between why would you take this one away from Joe public

with the councils handing developers rights to build ever higher buildings with no outside space, in Worthing, more open areas are needed not stealing the ones we already haave

Once again the dynamic duo of WSCC & WBC have got together to acquire OUR green space and take it away from the majority to give it to the minority yet!! In many senses they're trying to do it to us up in Broadwater but we're still fighting our corner. It's not that we're against education it's vital for future but respect also has to shown to our youngsters rather than them having an example of always how to 'ride rough shot over everybody' in their way. What a shame that we can't compromise and learn to 'jaw, jaw, jaw, rather than war, war, war' we'd all benefit greatly & what an example as well to our children!!!! Barbara Cook.

This is a similar issue to the one that arose on the manor ground and the school claimed that the kids couldn't possibly play on the field at the same time as dogs were being walked due to health and safety issues yet during there summer school I noticed they came onto the field without checking for dog faeces and played for a good long time with a frisbee and no dogs interferred with them at all. I am not a dog walker but do object to our parks being stolen from us in this manner. Excuse the pun but the schools are being very dog in a manger about this.

If the various schools hadn't sold off their playing fields and grounds to make money then they wouldn't have to try to take over public spaces.

Any fenced off area is someone trying to take ownership of it . "saying it will be available to others when school not using it " . doesn't count a a public place anymore so I have signed.
Have to add who will pay for fence and also who will insure and maintain said fence ?

my family and i have used this beautiful park on many occasions and have not encountered any stranger danger, nor have we felt the need to stay away due to dog dirt .

We have a property rented here. The park is a direct sight from the window this will make it unattractive and ruin the delight of seeing children playing. playing.

Yet another attempt to futher remove the few open spaces Worthing has and make them unavailable to the general public. Shame on those who are meant to represent the people.

Victoria park is a public space and not a school playground. Shortsighted planning for schools and education should not impact on valuable green space in a heavily populate area.

The whole park should be fenced in to make it secure for dogs and children from the roads - dog walkers always pick up the poo but the fair weather park users leave loads of rubbish on the park - plus the paths should be lit for winter.
