Whilst I'm a big footie fan, and my daughter went to Heene School, this proposal is a ridiculous suggestion. The park belongs to the community, I walk my dog there, my daughter learned to ride a bike there (where I could see her from right across the park) and my son now enjoys kicking a ball around, but it is a mixed-use area. I watch families playing cricket on this spot. People play rounders and have picnics. I'm able to keep an eye on my daughter in the playground, whilst I let the dog and my son run on the grass. This proposed segregated area would only meet the needs of a few, whilst many hundreds of residents gain a massive benefit from its current offering. Don't allow the demise of a beautiful, local, community park, for the sake of a few dozen children that might happen to like football. I hated football in school, and I hated the use of my own primary school playground being used to play football, but kids can use the field for football now. They don't need a separate pitch. I also recently campaigned for the school to get the land of the Jolly Brewers, to the east of the school grounds. Is there not a possibility of the school making better use of the space that we already campaigned for, instead of its current ue as an eye-sore, building site/car park?

The park is public space and clear view.
If dog poo is a problem, design a section that not in the main green.

The school kids should be able to use the park, no need for extra fencing though. It is imperative that kids establish how and where to roam, not to be inside a fenced area.

i use this park on a daily basis and would be very upset about the proposed changes. I can't see how this is at all improving the park and strongly disagree that te school needs this. My daughter has been there for four years and there's not been any issues as far as I know. Stranger danger is going to be a bigger issue due to impaired visuability and other sporting activities will be hindered. Please re consider and stop this proposal. Thank you.

I do not agree to the school fencing off the park for their own use. The park is for everyone to use. Also I live opposite the park and I will be able to hear footballs being kicked against the fence all day long. It will also make the park look ugly.

The council propose to do the same to the Manor Sports and Recreation ground as well. They are also trying put one on land that has covenants on it.

The park is used by so many of the public. We have drunks and junkies, Dog walkers, parents, adults, teenagers, fitness classes, football clubs, tots from pre schools, learning difficulty adults, disabled people, elderly people, all who live close to this park and use regularly throughout the day and evenings. Although my son goes to the school, I would prefer him safe in the school grounds than in a public place. We have a beautiful park, we do need an eye sore, waste of money, fenced area for the sake of the lazy teachers who are fed up with vetting for dog waste, before using the grassed area. please leave it alone.

There is little outside space for people to use who live in the vicinity. I have a friend in a nearby dementia home and the carers will often take residents out to Victoria Park to enjoy the open space and fresh air. It will be very disappointing if this space is limited in the future, it will have a negative effect on the health and wellbeing (physical, social, emotional and mental) of people in the area. Surely as we are facing an increasing obesity problem we should be making more open space available for exercise / outdoor activities not less?
