Worthing & Adur Council is the vandal. Trying to put fences around parks, shoring up houses and locations with ugly silver shuttering and expensive concrete around old office blocks. Not to mention planes bombing motorways. They must go.

The lack of consultation process should have been addressed far earlier. I haven't seen the local paper article - can you post a link? I definitely agree that losing access to this community resource is concerning for everyone who uses it.

Im signing your petition because we too in my home town are trying to save our very own Victoria Park-in Peebles Scottish Borders. Gifted common land should never be developed or enclosed and kept as an accessible green space---for everyone!

Victoria Park is one of the few green open spaces in this part of Worthing close to the town centre. As well as serving as a public green space with free access to various sports, exercise, community and dog walking and other groups, it serves as a breath of fresh air where people working close by can stroll and relax during their lunch break. Fencing off half of the available space and reducing access to the general public at all times of day so that school children can use it for a few hours is not a logical solution.

Grew up very close to this park, spent many years playing there and having school sports days. Leave it as it is so children can have the same freedom to play and create as I did.

I am soon to be a resident house owner overlooking the beautiful park...
To fence off a park surrounded by residents who sit so closely to it... With the beautiful view through the surrounding trees over looking the park.... I do not see it fitting to fence it off! I have no objection to a low fence at the Play ground areae for the safety of the children ....

please keep the park open to public, as long as child safety procedures are in place such as entrance and exit gates to prevent children running onto the main roads.

The people who make these decisions need to come and observe how this park is used on a daily basis by local families enjoying a beautiful and well maintained open space. The observations will speak for themselves. The beauty of this park is that there is enough room for all to enjoy their own activities without encroaching on others who are also using it. Plenty of space for families picnicking, children having a kick around or playing cricket, dog walkers, local football teams training and having matches, the mad boot campers and buggy fit brigade.
Fencing off an area will not only ruin the aesthetic of the park, it will take away valuable space from the diverse group of people who regularly use this public space. Please let common sense prevail.

Victoria park is lovely as it is. An open space should be just that. Open. For all to share and appreciate for what it is.

Don't spoil the park.
Make a section elsewhere for dog ealker/poo.
Look at how they do it in Spain and other European countries.
