DON'T ERASE WOMEN-Open Letter to the Greek Parliament and Citizens of Greece on "Gender Identity" Proposed Legislation

Women are real, not just what a man makes up in his imagination. Women need protections, privacy, dignity, and safety, female only spaces where men, regardless of what they call themselves, are not allowed. The Equality Act has recently passed in the US. It erases all female only spaces and sports. Never have I felt less safe.

Most men who self I'd as women do not have surgery or hormones. As they retain their penis and are therefore male bodied they may be a danger in women only spaces.

Please be careful to protect people based on sex and don't replace "sex" with "gender identity". Trans people deserve some protections but their rights must not hurt the rights of females.

Listen to women. They deserve to have a Voice. It’s unethical to not look at (and explain in full) the big picture.

Will Greece allow the erasure of women? It will if it allows "gender" to take the place of BIOLOGY, fantasy and mentsl illness to tke the place of what the words 'woman' and 'female' mean. If __anyone__ can say "I am a woman" then in rrality, the word woman comes to mean--nothing at all.

Women are oppressed on the basis of their sex. The sex of transwomen is and will remain male regardless of hormone consumption or mutilation surgery. Wake up.

If you erase the category "woman" to include men who "identify" as women, you erase women's rights and protections, particularly the right to privacy and sex-segregated spaces, such as prisons and rape shelters. In the UK a male rapist (he had raped women and girls) was sent to a women's prison on the basis of his 'identification' and promptly began assaulting the female inmates.
