Don't Cut Our Lifeline! WV

There is a great need here. Care has tremendous costs for family - not just financial, but in stress for the caretaker.

I AM SIGNING BECAUSE MY GRANDSON NEEDS THESE SERVICES, WITH OUT THEM HE WOULD HAVE A HARD TIME AND WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO GO TO WORKSHOP

Don't cut our lifeline! I am a DSP/respite worker who helps take care of my uncle! You need to cut other people at the DHHR, I break my back daily helping take care of my uncle! We work hard for our money and to make sure he is taken care of and not by strangers!! Cut people's money at the DHHR who don't work!!

Disability lives matter

Cutting this program would be such a disservice to our families that have members with disabilities. How could that even be an option? We, as family members take care of our families, shouldn't the State of West Virginia take care of their famies?

Will have to consider placement if I lose my sons benefits !

Please do not make these cuts. Our programs have already been cut. Our citizens with disabilities have the right to live a full and productive life. If we can fund illegals why would you cut this much needed program for individuals that can't speak for themselves. As a parent of a child (42) yes I still consider her a child because I still have to help her bath and brush her teeth and care for her like a 4 year old please do not destroy the chance for her to live a life where she feels she is a personal with a purpose.

Please!!! Stop giving things to people whom needs it and then taking it away.

Please don't cut services my son and I desperately need. My son has severe CP is deaf and has chronic lung disease. My son is total care and requires a lot of monitoring of his oxygen while awake and asleep when he then uses a bi- pap machine. He has had nursing for over 8 years and without this services we are in crisis since I am his only caretaker. Please look at this program and see why they are trying to take away these services my son and I cannot do without!

My daughter's behaviors have increased since changes were made at her Annual IDT in July. These cuts are causing severe problems.

These cuts will impact all who have disabilities and there famlies. I have a son named Josh he is 21 yrs old. He is autistic, ADHD, and MR. He needs alot of care and supervision . I am a single parent so these cuts not only will hurt my son Josh, but also me his mother. Please reconsider these drastic cuts!!

I am requesting audit be done on DHHR on the title 19 Idd waiver program

Please my son lives in his own home and needs help everyday with daily living, he has 24/7 staff. He loves his home and needs this help, please think what u would feel like if your son,daughter or family member had special needs and someone was taking their life that they know away from them.

I am a grandmother with a 23 year old grandson with mental disabilities. I am his guardian and the only one taking care of him. I only get 6 hours a day of center support and could use more hours.

Why in the world would you cut the needs of disabled people instead of making the people that are very much able to get jobs, get a job and save money on the welfare system side of things. This is ridiculous and cruel to cut out the needs of people who cannot speak for themselves when the people that take care of them barely have the money to do so now.

These changes will stop me from being able to work and put me on welfare. I am able to work now because of the respite hours.They provide me with a way to pay a babysitter. Babysitters for special needs children usually start $20 an hour that is more than I make. Because I work, my insurance, through my work, is my son's primary insurance. Saving the state of West Virginia a lot of money. That insurance I will be losing when I'm no longer able to work and then I will need the state to provide me with insurance. That's only a tiny bit of the negative impact this is going to have on my family. I am a single mother to a special needs child. As is the case, more often than not, my son's father decided he couldn't be tied down and decided to leave. Its been a few years since we've seen him. I am doing the best I can on my own. I am college educated and gainfully employed. Due to my son's disabilities I am unable to afford a babysitter. With the new changes I won't even be able to work part time . I don't know who came up with the new changes. I do know that they should be ashamed of themselves for taking away from the people who need it the most! Especially when we have a welfare system that is so senseless and mismanaged. The state of West Virginia would save a lot of money if they fixed that.

We need this program to be functional. It is vital we protect those it serves.
