I cant believe our state would do such drastic changes to our wavier program! These people are the most vulnerable of our society and they will all be hurt by these drastic changes.Cutting respite down to 60 hours a month will make it much harder on the 24/7 caregivers. Some of us are older and need assistance with bathing and moving our love ones. My respite provider has a second job now due to these cut and my cousin (who lives with me for the last 4 years) is suffering. We never use the full amount we are awarded. Where does the other 20000 go???

We did my son's budget and got it within $1 (under budget). After it was approved, mileage reimbursement was increased from $0.42/mile to $0.57/mile (we were also informed that we would still be getting the $0.37/mile). When APS/DHHR began processing the 2nd level complaint (we were complaining that the team felt we needed a larger budget especially considering my son regressed 5 months at the previous year's rate of service), APS entered the figures in using the new reimbursement rate and said we were over budget and they wanted to rescind their approval unless we located an additional $650 to remove from the budget!

If you can support these cuts without hesitation, you have no idea what it takes to not only raise a child with special needs, but also attempt to provide that child with the quality of life to which he or she is as equally deserving of as you or I.

If this goes thru them I am going to have my hours cut, which in turn means I will no longer have insurance, which mean I may have to possibly have to go on public assistance. Which I worked hard to get off of. You are doing an injustice to the families who take care of their children rather than farm them off to be taken care of by somebody else. What you are doing is wrong. Cut your salaries if you want money to add more people to the Waver program

The impact of the changes ....you have no clue of what we have to deal with daily...not just 9 to 5 but 24/7......the budget cut will deeply hurt the way they live daily .....mostly all of these individuals live their daily life by doing what they know...." everyday". day in and day out........when things are changed......THEY CHANGE!!!......

These cuts are absolutely abhorrent!!! Governor Tomblin should be embarrassed and ashamed for allowing this to go through. But I suppose that he would have had to actually show up to the meetings that he scheduled in order to know the full scope of this disgrace. Instead, he decided to insult the intelligence and integrity of the very people that he claims to represent.
