Please continue to help our older and hard working Americans with medicare. The economy has stripped many from their living a life they were used to, but without the medicare system, the elderly will surely never be able to afford to live !!!

Our aging adult population with disabilities need available nursing homes for continued nursing care that families can't provide at home. My mother was one of those indiividuals and our family was glad we found a place to take good care of her at her weakest and sickest time.

These cuts will cause many good nursing homes to have to close their doors or not take any more Medicaid residents!

I think that the self interest of this act is quite frankly, appalling. The sick and elderly deserve the best attention, and just because they are a not a main demographic of voters does not rule them out from being taken care of with the highest standard.

As the business office manager at Knox County Nursing Home, I can tell you how devasting these cuts will be. We are already facing financial difficulties due to the start of MMAI. These cuts will reduce our already low rate by $18 per day per resident. That is $558 per month per resident x 70 = $40,000 per month loss.

Do not cut funding that goes towards those who can not take care of themselves and must rely on others to do so. This would be a devastating cut to many, many individuals in Illinois.

Do not cut funding that goes towards those who can not take care of themselves and must rely on others to do so. That is cruel and supremely disrespectful. Many seniors, and facilities that take care of our seniors, do so on a shoe string budget as it is. In what is supposed to be known as "Golden years" many Seniors have to make decisions that should not have to make like "Should I buy food, or medicine this month?" This would be a devastating cut to many, many individuals in Illinois.

I would hope that cuts in spending would not be made on the backs of our elderly, who have probably contributed numerous decades to various taxing bodies. Our elders should be respected, and not robbed.

Please do cut our Medicaid dollars. They are very important to be able to take care of our residents. This means less staff which means slower meal times, not as clean facilities and less maintence to keep our residents safe.
