A cut in the funding of Medicaid is unjust and unfair. It limits facilities ability to provide quality care and to take on the many "hard to approve/ no guardian/ no family" cases that we are faced with everyday. Many facilities come upon these type of cases and lose money due to the time, and hardship of providing the information MCD requires to approve residents. In short cutting funding to an already struggling population will not bring about anything but devastation and hardship for Sr.'s who have worked their whole lives and deserve a place to "rest" w/o being afraid that through the actions of their government they will not be provided for because facilities will not be able to afford to take on these cases. It is un-American to turn your back on citizens who outlived their family and resources.... many of whom are veterans, retired school teachers, stay at home moms.. there has to be a better way... we cannot punish our "parents".

Nursing homes are already strapped in trying to provide quality care for our elderly. Cut something else. There are many frivilous perks that could be cut.

Please do not cut finding to the most vulnerable of human beings in the country, the elderly. They deserve a safe place to live with quality care. The staff who care for them deserve a fair wage. Family members should NOT have to worry about whether or not their loved ones will be cared for appropriately. STOP THE MEDICAID CUTS TO LONG TERM CARE!

These cuts will negatively effect the services skilled facilities are able to provide to their elderly residents. Additionally, many facilities will not want to take patients with higher acuity due to the costs that will be incurred. Who will take these people? The costs will get put back on the hospitals who will be full of people know one will take. Does this make sense????
