Protect those who cannot take care of themselves, through no fault of their own.

In Asian countries, the elderly are held in higher esteem than we do here in the U.S. These cuts are but just one example of the level of honor we show to the elderly in the state of Illinois.

My 28 yr old granddaughter, who has microcephily and needs round-the-click facility care would suffer greatly if funds were to be cut. Please take care of those who can't take care of themselves.

Nursing homes that take Medicaid have been on the edge of destruction with the current payment short falls, this proposed cut will close Nursing Homes and will leave our elderly with NO service. What a shame.

My daughter is on Medicaid and unless you as legislators are prepared to personally take care of a 28 year old multiply handicapped developmentally disabled adult 24/7, then you better leave Medicaid alone. I promise I will bring my daughter and others like her to your offices for you to take care of and meet. Afterwards you will want to increase services and funding for this very special population that is medically fragile and whose families all have voting powers. You think that this population has no voting power and it is easy to disregard them. The truth is that the families have a lot of power and leadership. We are tiger families and will fight for our children that can't speak for themselves. I welcome a phone call to discuss further with anyone who is willing to take the time to learn more about the Illinois residents that will be affected by changes to the Medicaid program. 847-380-0709

I've been a nursing home administrator for 19 years now. And every year, long term care is cut in order to fund the continued mismanagement of funds by the state of Illinois.

Cutting medicaid will not solve any problems. It will result in more mentally ill people on the street and in prison.

If Medicaid is cut it will directly affect my 28 year old daughter who has Rett Syndrome and lives in a group home with other individuals with developmental disabilities. She relies on Medicaid and is unable to care for herself. The cuts will hurt so many people with varying disabilities who are unable to advocate or speak for themselves-they are the most vulnerable citizens.
