We cannot balance the budget on the backs of the frail elderly and all those who serve them tirelessly!

it's a senior living provider I see what an ass set senior population is dark community, it seems criminal to deprive these individuals of the appropriate care they deserve at this vulnerable time in their life. They have given their lives to build our state and country as veterans workers and parents...The least we can do is ensure they have the highest quality of medical care provided to them. Post cuts will not only affect their care but the care of others is communities will struggle to provide the services necessary for our seniors.

The Public Aid rates paid to nursing homes in Illinois are already the lowest in the nation. I don't know how we can afford to cut them even lower to take care of our senior citizens most in need.

Our industry has suffered enough at the hands of politicians who don't seem to understand the complexity of what we do for Illinois' elderly and infirmed who need our services. If one looks at the cost of in-home care, on a private pay basis it is vastly more expensive on a private-pay basis for just one caregiver. We are paid at a much lower per diem for Medicaid recipients, yet they benefit from comprehensive, interdisciplinary care. It's time politicians begin to take into account what is now treated as "value-added service" (translate "free") and begin paying us for the care we provide. Expecting more and paying less is not only setting us up for failure, it is setting our state up for "crisis" which will affect one of our most vulnerable populations.
